The Paps of Jura are three shapely quartzite mountains rising abruptly from the Inner Hebridean isle of Jura. Their Gaelic name, Sìthichean na h-Iolaire (“breasts of Jura”), speaks to their distinctive rounded forms: Beinn an Òir, Beinn Shiantaidh and Beinn a’ Chaolais. Remote and windswept, the island was once home to George Orwell, who finished 1984 here, and is famed for the annual fell race that traverses all three summits.

This Contour print captures the sculptural curves of the Paps, distilled into an artwork of Hebridean drama and beauty.

A note on the scale bar:

Each print includes a cartographic-style scale bar, accurate to the original 70×70 cm edition. Smaller sizes (50×50 cm and 30×30 cm) are reproductions of the same artwork, meaning the scale bar is preserved as part of the design rather than resized.
