Rolling moorland, broken quartzite ridges and ancient hillforts define the Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on England’s Welsh Marches. From high plateaus to knife-edge escarpments, the landscape reads like an open geology book spanning Silurian limestone, Ordovician volcanics and glacial scars.

National trails stitch the hills together - Offa’s Dyke Path, the Shropshire Way and bridleways like the Jack Mytton Way. The area is home to classic events including the Long Mynd Hike and fell races over the Mynd and Stiperstones.

Folklore clings to the tors: the Devil’s Chair on Stiperstones, Roman and medieval quarrying on the Clees and Bronze/Iron Age earthworks on many tops - human traces layered across a complex, ancient landscape.
